2012 in Review

2012 was our first full year. It started out great when we received a $600 donation from the South Plainfield Mayor’s Wedding Fund. On June 13th Time 2 Shine presented two deserving South Plainfield students with $5,000 Scholarships. As we geared up for annual Yard Sale in October it became apparent we all needed to prepare for Super Storm Sandy and we cancelled our yard sale. After Super Storm Sandy hit New Jersey and caused wide spread devastation, Time 2 Shine made the decision to cancel the annual Chinese Auction. With so much destruction to so many people in our area, people were donating time and money to the efforts to restore the Jersey shore. We chose not to compete with that. In our local area Time 2 Shine donated over $1,200 in food gift cards to aid those most affected by Super Storm Sandy in our area. As we look ahead to 2013 we know we will have to work harder to help the kids we have pledged to help. We have many great ideas for fundraising and look forward to everyone’s support and to having a great year!

1st Annual SPHS Scholarship Awards

Time 2 Shine Foundation was pleased to award two $5,000 scholarships on June 13, 2012 at South Plainfield High School. The two recipients were Ryan Marcoux and Joseph Miller. Ryan and Joseph showed the characteristics we were looking for as well as the drive to further their education in sports and music. Congratulations to Both!

Time 2 Shine Receives Mayor’s Donation

On February 21, 2012 Time 2 Shine Foundation received a $600 donation from the Mayors Wedding Fund. The check was presented by South Plainfield Mayor Matthew Anesh. It is a tradition for Mayor Anesh to donate all the proceeds from the weddings he performs throughout the year to local charitable organizations and causes.
